Media and Entertainment law is a fast growing sector of practice in the UK and the European Communities. The emergence of multi-media law - perhaps better considered as media convergence - has created a whole raft of new conceptual and practical difficulties for specialist lawyers. It has also created a large amount of new work for lawyers who are rapidly having to develop fresh skills and legal knowledge. This text is designed to provide analysis of topical issues as well as surveys of key areas of practice. It is designed to meet the practical and academic interests of specialist media and entertainment lawyers. There are a very rapidly growing number of practising solicitors and barristers specializing in this field as well as intellectual property lawyers who occasionally encounter problems in the area of media. There are also a growing number of academics specializing in media law and several universities now run specialist courses on the subject.
