Kitap açıklaması

This story is based on oral history of the ancient town of Uburu in the Cross River area of Igboland (Alaigbo). It is history told through folk songs. From time immemorial, succession to the throne of the Palace Court of Ofor Ndigbo at Awanaka in Umunaga, Uburu has been shared between the Umu Umahi and Umueze Ruling Houses. Umu Ugbanoke is the Reserve house for regents and parliamentary heads. The Palace shares the same ground with the Ofor Ndigbo Temple. The two ruling houses have also always been responsible for sharing the duty of providing security, peace and Justice to the Igbo country. Each produced a chain commander for the two lines of garrison networks, which covered the whole territory of Alaigbo, from Ubakansi (Bakassi) in far South East to Agbor in the far North West of the Igbo country and back to the Cameroon border as the crow flies. The Village Garrison chain took care of the internal peace and security in every Igbo town while the Town Garrison Network was the Frontiers Force guarding the border, towns and settlements. However, about 750 AD, during the reign of Eze Ikenegwu it came to pass that there was no heir apparent to the Igbo throne because the King had no male child. And owing to the very long reign of Eze Ikenegwu all the men who ought to succeed him from either of the ruling houses died or themselves became too old to wear the crown. The King decided to seek the advice of the Palace Counselor in finding a befitting heir to his throne and also eligible Consort for the King’s daughter, Princess Adaora. Wisely, the King merged the two issues together and set his advisers to resolve the problems. The theme tune for this story is ‘Nyarinya’ by Isichei Brothers of Asaba. It commemorates the Igbo Princess, Adaora
