This Claude Monet art calendar takes you to the epoch of impressionism. Although the term impressionism goes back to Monet, his early works were realistic, i.e., painted in a style that emphasized the exact rendering of reality. Monet loved to observe nature and to interpret it in his own way. He was particularly intrigued with how light affected the mood of the environment. This is why he started painting series of the same places under different light conditions. This calendar shows predominantly oil paintings.
