Truong Vinh Ky (Petrus Jean-Baptiste), known as Petrus Ky (December 6, 1837- September 1, 1898), was a Vietnamese scholar and academic, a linguist, journalist and writer in the second half of the nineteenth century. He was passionate about Quoc ngu literature and is considered one of founders of new literature in national writing "quoc ngu". He is the true instigator of the Latinization of Vietnamese writing and is pioneered writing in “quoc ngu”, with the authentic vietnamese language and spoken language of the South Vietnamese, so in addition to his compilations and works, he also compiled books on education, theory and practice of several language, anthropology, geography, culture, etc. Our presentation puts a wholehearted emphasis on his personal, professional, and intellectual property, ideas and goals.Truong Vinh Ky is the noble elite of Vietnam.
