The first volume of Marco da Cunha's poetry, focusing on his earlier work. Marco da Cunha was born in 1897 in Mora, Alentejo, Portugal. His poetry reflects his rural roots and his inner turmoil, mixing verses on the simple countryside life with fiery descriptions of the battlefront of the Great War and, of course, his inner struggle with a dark persona.
