The Forgotten Man of Everest

This is a Biography of Major General Geoffrey Bruce CB DSO MC who was a key member of the 1922 and 1924 Everest Expeditions, originally recruited to be the Transport Officer, but who set the world altitude record on his first mountain climb. Subsequently he had a successful military career, largely in India in the Gurkha Rifles, gaining a DSO and an MC on the North West Frontier, and participated in both World Wars. It is aimed primarily at his family, describing his life from cradle to grave, but has interest value for Military enthusiasts as well as Everest history followers.
