Creating a business world from text, graphics, sound, full-motion video, and animation, "The Manager's Workshop: Motivation" is a new multimedia management module that engages students in the art and science of motivationg people to achieve peak performance. Using an office as the main "setting", students play the role of a new sales manager at Omega Pharmaceuticals. Using all of the resources available in the office (personnel files, theories of motivation, case studies, a tutorial program and self-assessments), students are asked to devise techniques that will inspire their five sales reps to improve sales. This simulation software offers over 350 decision branches in the entire program, each of which allows several outcomes. Students are also able to select video lectures on any of the five theories of motivation, seven animated case studies based on real-world organizations, tutorials on motivation theory, and self-assessments on job satisfaction and leadership style.
