Introductory Ada: Packages for Programming (Wadsworth Series in Computer Science)

Requiring little mathematical rigour and minimal programming experience, this text is truly an introduction to ADA. The author feels students are not able to grasp all of ADA's nuances in a first course, so she covers a reasonable subset of the language, emphasizing packages and top-down design. The main features of this text include: an early introduction to and emphasis on packages; an emphasis on top-down design and problem solving throughout; numerous examples of ADA code; an early discussion of I/O; chapter overviews and summaries; and an extensive number of exercises and problems. This book should be of interest to degree and diploma students on introductory courses in ADA.
