Long, long befroe he was an action figure, G.I. Joe was a star of the comics; he was the longest running Ziff-Dabis comic title, and one of the most successful militery figures in comics. Of course, it was later that every boy grew up playing solider with his G.I. Joe (or, as I did with my cousin, pelting him with a b-b gun)., but in the early 1950s he was a comic-book hero! He first fought in the Korean War, and then as that conflict wound down he became more of a general military guy. His early stories were part drama, and a little humor. Many different artists worked on G.I. Joe, with a lot of them unatrributed still today - - but all high-quality, fast-paced, action stories for any reader to enjoy!This first book reprints G.I. Joe V2#6-10. The first five issues were numbered #10-14 (not sure why), but are not yet available – when we hunt them down, they will join the collection.We also have a collection of just the G.I.
